Student Claims Landlord Tried To Bury Charm In An External Hostel Inhabited By UNILAG Students (Photos)

"I am a 400level engineering student of university of Lagos. I stay off campus in a hostel called Medas. The landlord has been irresponsible since we paid, he failed to provide basic amenities like water, electricity, even the cleaners and security people resigned cause he failed to pay their salaries, only for him to come on 14th of January 2017 to threaten us that if we don't leave his hostel within the next three days he'll beat us up.
One of the students in the hostel saw a guy that came with the landlord earlier trying to bury some charm materials, we apprehended him, please help us broadcast these message for all to see. Pictures of the guy and his charm above...

UNIOSUN Student Stabbed To Death In Osogbo (Photo)

Barely three weeks after a 400 Level Science Education student of the Osun State University, (UNIOSUN) Osogbo, Adebisi Rofiat Damilola was found dead five days after she went missing, another student of the institution, 300-level student of the department of Civil Engineering, Kazeem Amodu Ige pictured above, was killed in a fight that erupted between some students of the school at their hostel in the school premises at Oke-Baale area of Osogbo, capital of Osun State yesterday January 16th.


According to reports, the fight started at about 8pm. Kazeem stepped forward to separate those who were fighting but was stabbed to death in the process.

Kazeem was rushed to Our Lady of Fatimah Catholic Hospital, Jaleyemi area for medical attention but died on arrival at the hospital due to high loss of blood.

The state commissioner of Police, Fimihan Adeoye, confirmed the incident and said a full scale investigation into the matter has been launched. Meanwhile Kazeem's body has been deposited at the state hospital, Asubiaro, where an autopsy will be carried out.

The bomb blast which took place this morning at a mosque at the University of Maidugri has claimed the lives of 5 people including a University professor of Veterinary medicine, while 20 have been injured. Exams scheduled to take place at the school has also been canceled. The bomb blast has been attributed to a Boko Haram attack. According Baba-Gana Ali, the bomb blast took place during fajr prayers (dawn prayers). He said another explosion took place at gate 5 of the school, which killed only the suicide bomber. Bomb Blast At The University Of Maiduguri Mosque

There was a bomb explosion in a mosque at the University of Maiduguri Borno this morning while students and staff of the university were observing prayer at 6:30 am. According to Sahara reporters, eyewitnesses said  that an explosion rocked the university early this morning and that security forces have been mobilized to the scene of the incident.



Several people have been reportedly killed and others injured, but there hasn't been any official confirmation of the casualties.

The Federal Polytechnic, Offa Kwara State Appoints New Rector


The Federal Government has approved the appointment of a new Rector for the Federal Polytechnic Offa, Kwara State.

He is Lateef Olatunji.

The appointment of Mr. Olatunji was contained in a statement by the Registrar of the institution, Abdulmajid Raji, in Omu-Aran on Thursday.

Mr. Olatunji, until his appointment, was an economist and accountant by profession.

His appointment as the fourth substantive rector of the institution was with effect from December 28, 2016.

Born on December 2, 1963, Mr. Olatunji enrolled at the Anglican College of Commerce, Offa, Kwara State between 1973 and 1978.

He was at the School of Basic Studies, Kwara State College of Technology, now Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin for advance level programme.

Mr. Olatunji was also at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, for Bachelor’s degree in Economics. He graduated from the University in 1984.

His other academic qualifications include Master’s degree in Business Administration and Master of Science in Economics from the University of Ilorin.

Mr. Olatunji joined the services of the Offa polytechnic in 1996 as a Senior Lecturer from where he rose to become a Chief Lecturer.

He was at different times Head of the Department of Financial Studies (1996-1997); Head of Accountancy Department (1997-2000); Director School of Business and Management Studies (2000-2006).

Also, Director of Poly Consult (2004-2005); Dean, Student Affairs and Chairman Polytechnic Sports
Committee (2009-2011) among other duties.

University Students Impeach Department President For Alleged N5000 Fraud

Accounting students in Obafemi Awolowo University on Friday removed the president of their departmental association, John Akpan, over an alleged N5000 fraud.

He was said to have committed the fraud by declaring that the department paid N15,000 as gate fee during a visit to a zoo in Ibadan while it was later discovered that the actual fee paid was N10,000.

An investigative committee led by a 400 level student, Ajilore Ayo, set up to look into the allegation against the president confirmed the fraud.

The committee presented its finding to the legislative council of the association during its sitting held at the ICAN Lecture Theatre of the institution.

After deliberations on the report, the speaker, Ajayi Emmanuel, announced the impeachment of the president who was immediately relieved of his duties.

Speaking after the decision, Mr. Akpan maintained he was innocent of the allegations.

“Basically, the speaker doesn’t like me and I am not surprised at the decisions. I will fight this crisis with all I have got”, he said.

Also speaking, the speaker said as Accounting students, their watchword should be justice and integrity and that this was what led to Mr. Akpan’s removal.

Commercial Driver Sold Murdered UNIOSUN Student For N10,000

The Department of State Security Service (DSS), Osun State Command, said it has arrested a herbalist and a commercial driver  for allegedly kidnapping and killing a 400 Level Science Education student of Osun State University, Osogbo, Adebisi Rofiat Damilola.

The driver, Elijah Oyebode confessed that the herbalist identified as Jelili, also known Ifa, gave him the assignment to bring a young lady and get N10,000 as reward.

Elijah said the victim boarded his vehicle from Ipetu-Ijesa to Osogbo while returning from the Ipetu-Ijesa campus of UNIOSUN.

Rofiat who left Ipetu-Ijesa for Osogbo on December 22nd, 2016 got missing along the way and her corpse was found on the roadside along Ikirun/Iragbiji road few days later. Elijah who spoke with Daily Trust in Yoruba language, said:

"I took her (Rofiat) from Ipetu-Ijesa. There were other passengers in my vehicle that day. The girl matched the specification that Ifa (herbalist) gave me. Ifa said I should bring a lady that had never had a child. 
"When I saw the student, I was sure that she had not given birth to a child. Ifa had given me a charm to hypnotise any lady that I want to bring. He said once I put the charm in my pocket, I only need to have body contact with the lady and she would be hypnotised. The charm was already in my pocket when I saw the lady and I ensured that my body touched her. From there, she didn’t know anything again.
"After dropping other passengers at the various destinations, I took the lady to Ifa at his house in Ikirun and he received her and gave me N10,000. I pitied the lady when I was leaving because I knew she would not come out alive.”
On his part, the herbalist said the driver was telling lie and that Elijah was just his contract driver that he used occasionally.

A top DSS official said there was incriminatory evidence against the herbalist, saying that Ifa was not saying the truth.

The Commissioner of police in the state, Mr Fimihan Adeoye, who confirmed the arrest said a joint team of DSS and policemen are investigation the matter.

Speaking with journalists in Osogbo on Thursday, Elijah who spoke in Yoruba language said: “I took her (Rofiat) from Ipetu-Ijesa. There were other passengers in my vehicle that day. “After dropping other passengers at the various destinations, I took the lady to Ifa at his house in Ikirun and he received her and gave me N10,000. I pity the lady when I was leaving because I knew she would not come out alive. My conscience was telling me that what I did was bad.

“When I left Ifa’s house, I went to a bush to dump the lady’s luggage which contained some clothes. Few minutes later, her phone started ringing. I knew her people must be looking for her. I took the phone to Yusuff to help me sell it. I told Yusuff that a passenger forgot the phone in my vehicle.

“The phone kept ringing and I later picked it. Yusuff told me that it was dangerous to receive the call because they could use it to trace us. I removed the SIM card and threw it away instantly to prevent her people from reaching us. We sold the phone for N20,000. We shared it N10, 000 each”.

In his comment, the herbalist said Elijah was his contract driver that he used occasionally, saying that all what he said was not true.

The Commissioner of police in the state, Mr Fimihan Adeoye said a joint team of DSS and policemen was investigating the matter.

Kaduna University Staff, Students, Paraded For Stealing Computers Worth N17.6m

Kaduna State Police Command Wednesday paraded two staff and three students of Kaduna State University, KASU for allegedly stealing 55 computers.

The computers were allegedly stolen with the collaboration of a Librarian, one Aminu Shuaibu.
One of the suspects, Simon Steven, a 400-hundred level Physics Student reportedly admitted committing the crime.

He narrated how he was lured into receiving and selling the stolen computers by one Musa, a friend, who parades himself as a student within the campus.
He added that Musa told him that he had some computers for sale and he agreed to the deal, stressing that, “But unknown to me, they were computers stolen from KASU’s e-library.”

However , according to the statement issued by Police Public Relations Officer, “on 21st of December 2016 at about 1400Hrs, the acting Registrar Kaduna State University reported to the commissioner of police that, on the 20th of December, 2016 at about 0200Hrs twenty (20) pieces of all in one HP Desktop Computers were stolen at the university computer center.
“Previously about 35 of the computers were stolen at e-library of the school making a total number of fifty five (55) computers estimated at seventeen million six hundred thousand Naira (N17,600,000).

“In the course of investigation, operatives of the State Intelligence Bureau, SIB, Kaduna apprehended one Aminu Shuaibu a Staff of the university with one of the computers.

“Arrest was also made of one Dauda Mohammed Umar (Security Man on duty during the incident) and Stephen Timon (student of the university) who criminally conspired with one Nosa and three others to perpetrate the crime.

“Also one Dennis Monday a student of the University, KASU, and one Kamal Aminu were arrested and thirty two (32) of the stolen computers sold to them were recovered.”

NYSC Introduces Biometric Clearance For Corps Members


Director-General of National Youth Service Corps, Brig.-Gen. Suleiman Kazaure on Wednesday donated N1.8 million to a Corps member Mr Ejike Eze who had a spinal-cord surgery.

Kazaure said the Corps member serving in Kogi State was involved in a road traffic accident where he sustained spine injuries.

“One of my core mandates is the welfare of the Corps members. We are here today to see him and see what we can do for him.

“He was involved in an accident in Enugu and had his spinal cord injured.

“When I heard of it, that the money the hospital charged is very huge that his family cannot pay, NYSC decided to take care of it,” he said.

The director at Memfys Neurosurgical Hospital, Enugu said that with the surgery done, he hoped the patient would be out of the intensive care unit soon.
He advised the Corps members to avoid unnecessary journey, saying that it was the cause of the accident.

“Whenever I am in the camp to interact with Corps members, I always advise them in this regard,” he said.

Eze was said to have embarked on a journey from Kogi to Enugu state on Dec. 20, 2016 where he had an accident and broke his spinal cord.

Earlier, the director introduced biometric clearance for Corps members in the South-East to ensure accountability of members’ activities using Information Communication Technology.

He said that the biometrics would be used in the clearance of Corps members for weekly Community Development Services and monthly clearance, adding that those without the approval would not be considered for payment of the monthly allowance.

Jamb To Start Selling Of 2017 Forms In A Few Days (See Cost)

Nigerian lady Christine Izuakor breaks PHD record in America (photos)


Against all odds, Christine Izuakor has earned the right to be called Dr. Izuakor on December 16, 2016.
According to her, she graduated with a PhD in Security Engineering and became the youngest and first ever African American at her university to achieve that feat! In the same year, she became the vice president and co-founder of Gen Trend at United Airlines. 

She was published in numerous international journals, and traveled to 19 cities across 10 countries – all while working a full-time job on the cyber security team of a Fortune 100 company, in which she recently received a promotion. She described her achievement with the caption:  

"I started my PhD program at age 23 and at the time was told I was too young, too naive and too inexperienced to contribute anything to my industry. 'ASUU Members Are 419'- Unilorin Reacts To Union's Petition To EFCC


Administration of the University of Ilorin, UNILORIN, has precluded claims from securing misrepresentation leveled against its Vice Chancellor (VC), Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali and his forerunner, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.

Review that ASUU last Thursday requested of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Ibadan Zonal office, charging over N2 billion misrepresentation against Oloyede and Ambali.

Responding, Oloyede, the present Registrar, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), rejected the cases, including that Satan was utilizing ASUU against him.

Ascending with regards to the team, UNILORIN in an announcement yesterday depicted the charges as "puerile untruths, to a great extent purge and just practiced to make it look genuine".

The organization expressed that those behind the request of were "foes of advance who are astounded at the pace of advance being recorded by the college every day".

The announcement by UNILORIN's Head of Corporate Affairs, Kunle Akogun, said there was just the same old thing new in the assertions.

He noticed that,

"similar colleagues made similar charges last August while shamefacedly kicking against the all around justified arrangement of Prof. Oloyede as recorder of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB)".

Akogun included that the elucidation had since guided the administration's activity and the conclusions were being credited to the Pension Fund Administrators' (PFA) accounts as and when due, till the legislature began deducting from source.
