Nigerian Army Arrests 3 Chadians Suspected To Be Boko Haram Members

The Nigerian Army says it has arrested three Chadians suspected to be members of Boko Haram sect. Addressing newsmen in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital today, Maj.-Gen. Lucky Irabor, the Theater Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole, said the arrests were made on January 26th.

A power-drunk soldier, identified simply as Sergeant Taiwo, has brought sorrow into the family of a 25-year-old commercial motorcyclist, Abu Alhaji, whom he allegedly beat to death.

Taiwo, aka Sir T, lives  in Myyong Army Barracks, Yaba, and is reportedly in detention in the barracks.

The motorcyclist, father of a six-month-old child, was said to have taken a woman, who wanted to buy snacks, to an eatery in the Morroco, Shomolu area, while the soldier parked his Toyota Camry on the premises.

Dasuki: Obanikoro Returns N30m More To EFCC


A former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, has returned a fresh sum of N30m to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, with a promise to pay a balance of N417m, The Punch can confirm.

Calculations by their correspondent showed that the former minister has now returned N167m to the Federal Government.

The police in Kwara State have arrested a man, Mr. Peter Adogun, for alleged impersonation and use of forged documents.

The First Information Report obtained by a Punch correspondent said on November 28, 2016, at about 5.20pm, one Oyetunji reported that the Nigeria Bar Association received complaints from some individuals alleging that one Mr. I. T. David, who practised as a legal practitioner in the state was not an authentic lawyer.
