Ooni Of Ife Endorses Naija Green Card


In an unprecedented ROYAL solidarity, the first ever, coming from the cradle of the Yoruba race and the custodian of the Yoruba ancestry, His Royal Majesty, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife has endorsed Naija Green Card, the #premier #social #safety #net for young Nigerians to make life easier for them.
His Royal Majesty declared that he fully supports and identifies with the Naija Green Card initiative which he says is long overdue, noting that same exists in other climes such as United State, United kingdom, etc, where such discount card is already a part of their system for the welfare and well being of young people, and therefore opines that young Nigerians does not deserve any less.
The revered Kabiyesi therefore pledged to do everything to ensure that this initiative gets a wider coverage for the benefits of young Nigerians and advocates support for the initiative for intended impact and relevance. See more Photos after the cut......

Borno’s Gov. Attacks Predecessor, Sheriff, Over Boko Haram


The governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima, has come down hard on his predecessor, Ali Sheriff, accusing him of inaction that he said led to the escalation of Boko Haram insurgency.

Mr. Shettima, who stated this on Monday at the annual lecture in honour of late Head of State, Murtala Mohammed in Abuja, said he was responding to a “political statement” by Mr. Sheriff in
which he said Boko Haram did not hold any territory in Borno when he handed over power.

The governor, who delivered a paper “Managing the Boko Haram crisis in Borno state, experiences and lessons for a multi party, multi ethnic and multi religious Nigeria”, said Boko Haram leader, Mohammed Yusuf, took advantage of Mr. Sheriff’s failure to provide leadership to declare a jihad.

43-Year Old Father Faces Prosecution For Abusing Children


A 43-year-old father of three, Christopher Sule, is to face the wrath of law under the Child’s Right Act for physically assaulting two of his children, resulting in bodily injuries and scars on the bodies of the minors.

The case has been reported at the Jos South Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State and the authorities have promised to prosecute the accused.

The Management Committee Chairman of the LGA, Mr Augustine Pwakim, told Channels Television that Mr Sule would be prosecuted for violating the Child’s Right Act.

Lady Narrates How Her Grandmother Who Was Pronounced Dead Came Back To Life

MTV Base VJ, Kola took to her Instagram to share a photo of her grandmother whom she said was pronounced dead. She wrote;
"While I was at church today I got really devastating news. My great grandmother on my father's side died this morning. She was believed to be between 105 to 115 years old. She had a long life, and although every moment of it may not have been the greatest, she never gave up hope. Hope in God, her family, and all that they could achieve. Ma ma, I love you so much and may your spirit rest in perfect peace.

Photos: Final Year Student, 5 Others Killed In Fatal Accident Along Owerri - Okigwe Road

Six people including a final year student of the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, were killed when a  Hilux truck rammed into a tricycle, popularly known as Keke, last Friday morning, on the ever busy Owerri- Okigwe Express road in Imo State.

Four passengers died instantly while the student identified as one Bright Ononiwu, and the keke driver passed away the following day in the Hospital.

In February 2016, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Vice President and Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum appointed Shamma Al Mazrui as the country’s youth minister. (how old is Nigeria's youth minister, again? lol).

The announcement officially made 22-year-old Mazrui the world’s youngest minister.

Recovered Looted Funds: Whistle Blowers May Be Entitled To Between 2.5% And 5.0% - Lai Mohammed

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed said the Federal Government's Whistle-blower policy has started yielding fruit as it has so far led to the recovery of US$151 million and 8 billion Naira in looted funds.

Mistress Drugs Lover, Carts Away Car, Phone And Laptop

The operatives of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command, have arrested a lady in Agbor, Delta State, for drugging her man friend in a hotel in Ojodu area of Lagos and carting away his car, laptop and mobile phone.

The lady, Mitchel Harrold, 37, from Warri, Delta State was on Tuesday arrested after the operatives traced him through a car dealer in Lagos, whom she had engaged to help perfect import papers for the stolen Volkswagen Passat Wagon, 2001 model.
It was learnt that the suspect had on Thursday, 19th January, 2017, at about 5:30 p.m, together with her man friend, a medical doctor, checked into a popular hotel (name withheld) in Ojodu, Berger, with the plan to spend the night.
