We Always Disguise As Okada Riders To Rob Passengers - Suspects
Command operatives attached to Dopemu division while on patrol sighted some hoodlums attacking one Emmanuel, the suspects who were on commercial motorcycle popularly known as 'Okada' were sighted by the policemen while robbing the victim at gun point.
The operatives swiftly moved to the crime scene and on sighting the policemen the hoodlums took to their heels while the policemen gave them a hot chase, one Ismail Owolabi of No 13 Alfa Nla road was apprehended. The ATM card and phone belonging to the victim were found in his possession. A double barrel pistol Used in the robbery operation was also recovered from him.
The suspect Ismail Owolabi later led the Detectives to their hideout where two (2) more suspects were apprehended, the three (3) suspects confessed to be a four (4) man gang terrorising the Dopemu area of Lagos. They also stated that their modus operandi is to disguise as commercial motorcycle (Okada) riders and that when an intending passenger approaches them they will rob him or her .
One of the bajaj motorcycle used by the hoodlums was also recovered. Effort is on to arrest the other gang member who is still at large. The 3 suspects Ismail Owolabi, Toyese Akinbayo and Tolulope Akinbayo have been transferred to (SARS) special Anti Robbery Squad for discreet investigation.
The command's PPRO SP Dolapo Badmos advised members of the public to be vigilant whenever they want to board Okada since investigation has revealed that most Okadas are used for nefarious activities.
Boko Haram Leader, Abubakar Shekau, Claims Responsibility For Attack On University Of Maiduguri
In an audio message released last night, Shekau who spoke in Hausa, claimed responsibility for the attack. He said the group attacked the University because it was mixing "Islam with democracy."
"We carried out the University of Maiduguri Bomb at the mosque. We did it because they are mixing Islam with democracy. We carried out the attack in the morning and I am speaking to you this evening here in Maiduguri and you will see more of this attacks."
Goalkeeper Suffers Horror Injury After Taking A Boot To The Head
Whitehawk suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat to Dulwich Hamlets in the FA
Trophy but the biggest casualty was their goalkeeper Tom Stewart who was
left with a sizeable bump after taking a boot to the head.

Three Female Friends Die In Fatal Accident Along Akure-Ilesa Expressway (Photos)
A group of lawyers heading to the Court of Appeal, Akure were involved
in an accident along Akure-Ilesa Expressway on January 11th.
Mudasiru Balogun, who posted the photos survived while four people in
one of the vehicles involved in the crash, a Peugeot 406, died.
Among them are three friends, Olayinka Adumasha, Bolanle Odibo and

UNIOSUN Student Stabbed To Death In Osogbo (Photo)
Barely three weeks after a 400 Level Science Education student of the
Osun State University, (UNIOSUN) Osogbo, Adebisi Rofiat Damilola was
found dead five days after she went missing,
another student of the institution, 300-level student of the department
of Civil Engineering, Kazeem Amodu Ige pictured above, was killed in a
fight that erupted between some students of the school at their hostel
in the school premises at Oke-Baale area of Osogbo, capital of Osun
State yesterday January 16th.
According to reports, the fight started at about 8pm. Kazeem stepped forward to separate those who were fighting but was stabbed to death in the process.
Kazeem was rushed to Our Lady of Fatimah Catholic Hospital, Jaleyemi area for medical attention but died on arrival at the hospital due to high loss of blood.
The state commissioner of Police, Fimihan Adeoye, confirmed the incident and said a full scale investigation into the matter has been launched. Meanwhile Kazeem's body has been deposited at the state hospital, Asubiaro, where an autopsy will be carried out.

Chairman Of The Kaduna State Football Association, Abdulkadir Magaji, Dies at 52
NFF General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi, who confirmed his death, said the remains of the late football manager would be flown from Lagos to Kaduna where it would be buried according to Islamic rites at his hometown in Shika, Zaria later today. May his soul rest in peace Amen.
