The Acting Director General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) Yetunde Oni said that as per the last test outcomes, the speculated rice is unwholesome.
"In view of the above research center outcome, the item is not plastic but rather rice debased with miniaturized scale life forms above admissible farthest point, subsequently the seized rice relegation is unsuitable and, in this manner, unwholesome for human utilization," Oni said on Thursday at a joint public interview with the Customs Service.

The 102 packs of rice marked Beat Tomato Rice were caught by Customs commanding voices in Ikeja, the state capital of Lagos State, after a tip off that it was the supposed "plastic rice".

Nigeria's Health Minister, Isaac Adewole later expelled the "plastic rice" guarantees after preparatory tests.
