A 47 year old textile trader identified as Ifeka Obi has been arrested after being arrested with drugs worth $1.2 million. Obi was about to board a flight at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Wednesday when his cargo was intercepted by eagle-eyed security operatives.

Obi confessed that the cargo was 4.4 kg of Methamphetamine and he was conveying it to cambodia for sale. The drugs were neatly hidden within foodstuffs.
According to the NDLEA, at about $325,000 per kilogramme, the drug will fetch Obi and his sponsors a cool $1.4m (Over N400m).
Mitchell Ofoyeju, spokesperson of the drug agency stated that drug cartels are working to develop a strong market for methamphetamine in Cambodia because the price of drug is higher there.
