A 47 year old textile trader identified
as Ifeka Obi has been arrested after being arrested with drugs worth $1.2
million. Obi was about to board a flight at the Nnamdi Azikiwe
International Airport, Abuja on Wednesday when his cargo was intercepted by
eagle-eyed security operatives.
Obi
confessed that the cargo was 4.4 kg of Methamphetamine and he was conveying it
to cambodia for sale. The drugs were neatly hidden within foodstuffs.
According to the NDLEA, at about
$325,000 per kilogramme, the drug will fetch Obi and his sponsors a cool $1.4m
(Over N400m).

Ofoyeju, spokesperson of the drug agency stated that drug cartels are working
to develop a strong market for methamphetamine in Cambodia because the price of
drug is higher there.
